We Are Passionate About Learning How Children Heal
We will collect and analyze data about how child abuse affects brain function in children so that we can determine the most effective treatments for recovery. Our methods might include:
Seeking out existing trauma and brain function research in order to determine the most effective treatments for recovery, and filter it into our educational materials in everyday language so that it can be easily understood and applied.
- Studying brain imaging differences between abused children and peers who were not abused.
- Designing and conducting a new research study to evaluate the imaging of abused children before and after two or three years of intense treatment.
- Providing stipends to financially support the treatment of study participants.
- Determining next steps for future research opportunities to better help our children recover from the trauma of abuse.
